Where? What? When?

New Sermon Series by Pastor Jim

Seven hundred years before Jesus came to earth to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins the prophet Isaiah, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote an accurate description of all that would happen. 7 Centuries Before Calvary is Pastor Jim’s theme for a new series of sermons. Come hear how the prophecies of Isaiah came to pass just as Isaiah said they would. The messages cover Isaiah 53:1-9. The four sermons will be delivered from the pulpit of Green Pond Baptist Church on Sunday mornings March 4, 11, and 25. The series will conclude on March 30 during our Good Friday Worship Service that begins at 7:30 p.m.

Rev. Lee Nichols, Retired Missionary to Korea, to Speak on Sunday, March 18

Rev. Lee H. Nichols graduated from Auburn University, served as a naval officer for three years, then graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored churches in Atoka, Oklahoma and Newbury, Ohio before going to Korea in 1967 to work as a church planter for the next 31 years. After serving briefly as a food monitor in North Korea in 1998, he and his wife, Norma, moved to the ethnic Korean area of China to work at an international university as educators. They retired from the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in 2008, but returned to the mission field to continue working as volunteers, serving in China and North Korea until 2015. We are very pleased that Rev. Nichols will be our guest speaker at Green Pond Baptist Church on Sunday morning, March 18. Everyone is invited!

Children’s Easter Egg Hunt and Party

Children who are in grades 1-6 are invited to attend an Easter Egg Hunt and party at our church beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 25, during the Sunday School hour. Everything – including Easter baskets – will be provided by the church.

Good Friday Worship Service

Join us on Good Friday at 7:30 p.m. for a very reverent worship service as we look closely at the crucifixion and burial of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Regarding this service Pastor Jim says, “I pray that you will feel the full impact of what Christ did at Calvary and that you will leave with a fresh perspective of the great sacrifice Jesus made for us on the Cross.”
